Getting External Support for Walking

Paths for All recognises that getting colleagues and management on board from the outset is key to a successful workplace walking programme.

To support workplaces they offer a one day "Walk at Work" course aimed at staff whe are involved in improving the health and wellbeing of the workforce. This course sets out the key steps to a successful workplace walking programme.

In addition, further training is available to workplaces who wish to take this further and build capacity amongst staff to lead walks in the workplace. This is a half day "Workplace Walk Leader" course aimed at staff who will be involved in leading walks for colleagues.

Paths for All has also created a Walk At Work Toolkit. This a step by step guide on how to develop, deliver and evaluate a workplace walking project. There are also case studies to give you inspiration and useful information on resources and support.

Paths for All also offers grants  to support new or existing projects that promote walking within communities and workplaces. Sign up to Paths for All eNews to hear about new grants.

Paths for All also offer Pedometer Kit. The pack can used by individuals who want to get more active, or anyone who wants to encourage physical activity including health professionals, walking project co-ordinators, volunteer walk leaders, workplaces, school or young groups, social care professionals, long term conditions groups, mental health and addictions support workers.
