"Has helped us to bring foucs to areas where we can increase active travel and reduce our carbon footprint"

Being an organisation with a number of sites around Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire we were keento understand workplace commuting habits to see where any improvements could be made, whilerecognising the challenges of some employee’s remote home locations and rural public transportlinks. Connection was made with Travelknowhow Scotland and together we developed a company specific survey which was useful in setting baselines and developing commuting related actions to target improvements in the short, medium and long-term. The free service provided by Shona from Travelknowhow Scotland and the consultancy hours available has been exceptional and has helped us to bring focus to areas where we can increase active travel and reduce our carbon footprint. Any companies looking to start on the same active travel ‘journey’ are recommended to do the same.

"Working with a partner like Travelknowhow Scotland has allowed us to benefit from their professional expertise and develop an employee travel survey that delivered invaluable insight to our business. They know what questions to ask and have provided us with a great base from which to drive forward our net zero plans.”

"The expertise, support and analysis from Travelknowhow Scotland will prove to be transformational"

"The support from Travelknowhow Scotland produces a draft sustainable and active Travel Plan for NHS Lothian. We couldn't have done this without the support and guidance from Travelknowhow Scotland. They supported a staff consultation on the draft and the engagement and insight from these events, with a list of actions for us, was even more valuable. The expertise, support and analysis from Travelknowhow Scotland in a relatively small allocation of time will prove to be transformational."

Dr Jane Hopton
Programme Director - Sustainability Lead, Facilities Directorate, NHS Lothian
