Setting Targets

The overall target of your Travel Plan is to reduce car driver trips to and from your site/s.

The Travel Plan targets that you set should be both achievable and stretching. They should be based on the information that you have gathered from your Employee Travel Survey and other sources. You also need to take into account the amount of time and budget that is available to support your Travel Plan.

The targets you set will be very specific to your organisation and their success will depend on the balance of “stick” measures ( For example, restricting car parking spaces for single occupancy car users) and “carrot” measures (For example, offering FREE cycle maintenance to those who cycle to and from work) that your organisation chooses to adopt.
